Sabla was founded in 1987 to change societal attitudes towards atrocities on women by providing them opportunities to move ahead on the development track. It works by organizing women and making them aware of their rights and duties so that they may live with dignity and equality.
Established – 1987As the name suggests, SABLA stands for empowering women so that their role in society becomes equal, dignified, and inclusive. The organization works with women, men, children—especially the girl child—and entire families, with a focus on the development of backward and marginalized sections of society. By engaging all members of the family, SABLA promotes shared responsibility, gender equality, and sustainable community development .
Keeping development as the base, Sabla motivates communities and creates an enabling environment where women become aware, organized, and confident to struggle for their rights on their own.
Sabla follows a community-based development process where awareness and empowerment, training, capacity development, and policy advocacy are given priority to ensure inclusive growth.
